On the 11th day of Kirihimete, Active+ gave to me… A fitness tip to get me more speedy!
Looking to get started or make a return to running? A walk-jog programme is a great way to slowly work your way up fitness levels instead of jumping right into running. Try this: walk at a fast speed from one lamppost to the next, and then between the next two lampposts try a gentle jog. Over time try to build up to jogging between more lamp posts until you are jogging more than you are walking. It is a slow progression programme as you aim to build on your fitness and can jog longer distances at a time. By adopting this walk-jog programme, it gives you time to get your body ready to run for longer periods of time without causing injury. You can start with as little as 5 minutes of running and increase this weekly!
