Northland Osteoarthritis and Low Back Pain Programme

At Active+ we understand that living with pain can sometimes be a struggle and have a large impact on your day-to-day life. We have created a series of Active+ Mobility Action Programmes, which bring New Zealander’s like you together, to teach you how to manage your pain and get you back doing the activities you love.

The Northland programme is for people who have Osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip/ knee or low back pain. The programme runs for five weeks and you will take part in an 1.5 hours per week. Each session is facilitated by a Physiotherapist and includes group exercise and a group education programme based on a film made in Northland of a group of people going through the programme in Rawene. You will learn skills such as goal setting, pain management, healthy eating and the benefits of exercise.

Where is the programme taking place?

The five week programme will run in Kaitaia, Rawene and Kohukohu at the following times and locations. The first programme will start the first week of May 2017, and we will keep running the five week programmes for the next two years. Please contact us to find out future course start dates.
