Corporate wellness is the promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of physical mental and social well-being of workers in all occupations by preventing departures from health, controlling risks and, the adaptation of work to people and people to their jobs. It has both preventative and rehabilitation aspects.
In terms of prevention, corporate wellness protects healthy people from developing disease, pain, discomfort or injury at work through health and wellness programmes.
Research shows that health and well-being programmes produce economic benefits across all sectors and all sizes of business, this means that good health for staff is good business for employers.
Focusing on employees’ well-being improves morale and job satisfaction and can add value to organisations by promoting better health and increasing motivation and engagement of employees, in turn helping to drive increases in profitability and productivity.
When it comes to rehabilitation, it’s worth remembering that there is a cost to a business if an employee is off work, or at work but not able to fully function. This can impact on the employee – with them experiencing a cost, both financially and emotionally if they are off work. It can be harmful to an employee’s general health, can produce psychological stress/mental health issues as well as stress on families and communities.
We provide health and wellness programmes which improve general health and employee job satisfaction and morale. We offer education to employees on injury prevention, pain and/or discomfort.
We can help ensure work places are safe and create a workplace culture conducive to health and well-being. This includes workstation assessments and manual handling training.
Our goal with rehabilitation services is to limit long term disability and prevent injury through early intervention. We can monitor return to work programmes, assisting and promoting employees coming back to the workplace following illness or injury by identifying suitable duties, advising on appropriate adjustments and identifying risks.
We can also help employers to accommodate ill or injured workers so that they can remain in the workplace. Active+ also helps employers and employees where a person has a long-term health problem (such as chronic pain or disability), to return to modified work if necessary
