About

Dominique graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa in 2002. She spent many years working in private practice managing patients with Musculoskeletal and Sports injuries, as well as treating Orthopaedic hospital patients. In January 2017, Dominique immigrated to New Zealand with her husband and 2 children and joined the Active+ Howick team. She continues to enjoy acute care and working with all aspects of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Since moving to New Zealand, Dominique has continued to develop her skills and is a qualified Bradcliff Breathing practitioner managing patients with breathing and hyperventilation disorders. Dominique is also a certified PINC practitioner, and her passion lies in Oncology rehabilitation for women. Dominique is a huge supporter of advocating for cancer rehabilitation for every patient following a cancer diagnosis and the positive impact this can have on their physical and emotional recovery as well as improving their quality of life. Dominique always prides herself in being able to make her patients feel comfortable and being a supportive listener.

My Goals

Create further community awareness of the important role that Physiotherapy can play after a cancer diagnosis. Continue her education on the best scar management treatments and techniques.
