Pilates Matwork: Pilates is a low impact form of exercise which focuses on improving the strength of your body’s stabilising muscles (“the core”) and enhancing your flexibility. Exercises are completed on mats which we provide and classes are led by our physiotherapists who are pilates trained. Pilates will help you to see improvements in your strength, coordination, muscle endurance, posture and body confidence.
Reformer Pilates: Reformer pilates classes are done on reformer machines which consist of a gliding carriage inside a wooden or metal frame which is connected to a system of springs, pulleys and ropes or straps. Exercises target every part of the body, building strength and toning muscles . The resistance level is adjustable to ensure you can load appropriately regardless of your fitness or strength level, and add further challenge as needed. Maximum 4 per class.
Baby & Me: A 45-minute pilates class where babies can also attend! A family friendly class suitable for parents with babies from 6 weeks of age to those who aren’t quite crawling. Parents are instructed on a Pilates repertoire by a physiotherapist who doesn’t mind crying babies at all!
Antenatal Pilates: Gentle, low impact form of exercise suitable for women during all stages of their pregnancy. Our classes are lead by a physiotherapist with specialist training in antenatal pilates and women’s health.
Active Gold: A circuit class for over 60’s who want to improve their strength and fitness. Led by our personal trainer who is experienced in designing exercise programmes for people of all ages and levels. Improve your health with our friendly group class!
Pilates Express: A 30 minute Pilates exercise class – get a great workout without taking too much time out of your busy day.
Falls Class: A 4 week exercise and education programme led by our physiotherapist who specialises in the health of older adults. Classes involve balance and strength exercise which are proven to reduce the risk of falling, and each exercise session concludes with an education session teaching you why we are more likely to fall as we age, how to reduce your risk of falling, and what to do if you do have a fall.
