Shannon Spicer

Shannon graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2013 from Otago University. She initially worked in Palmerston North in a busy sports clinic before moving to London in 2016.

During her time abroad, Shannon worked in hospital outpatients, orthopedics and triage clinics which she found hugely beneficial in expanding her knowledge. She returned to New Zealand in 2018 to continue working in private practice and joined the Active Plus team in 2020.

Shannon utilizes a combination of skills to facilitate a patient’s recovery following injury including education, dry needling, manual therapy and exercise prescription.

Outside of the clinic, Shannon works with local and national basketball teams, having worked with the Manawatu Jets and the NZ U17 Girls Basketball teams. She also enjoys travelling and plans to continue to explore the world in between her work, study and basketball commitments.

My Goals

To complete her Post Graduate Diploma through AUT and begin working towards her Masters.
