About

Since joining Active+ in December 2019, Marianne has been making a big impact in her role as an Occupational Therapist. She works across Vocational Rehabilitation, Concussion Services, and Pain Management, helping clients get back to life, work, and wellness with confidence and care.

Marianne brings a unique blend of experience to her work—having spent years in both physical and mental health rehabilitation, as well as stepping into a few non-OT roles along the way. She graduated in 1990, and in 2021 added a Postgraduate Certificate in Vocational Rehabilitation to her impressive toolkit.

Originally from the Netherlands, Marianne has called Aotearoa home since 1984—and it shows in her love for the New Zealand bush, native birds, and all things conservation and sustainability. When she’s not helping people thrive, you’ll likely find her gardening, cycling, watching a good thought-provoking film, or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen.

With her compassionate approach, deep knowledge, and genuine love for helping others, Marianne is all about creating pathways to better health and brighter futures.

My Goals

To continue to ride her e-bike to commute when she can - can ride her non e-bike to work once this year!!
