About

Originally from South Africa, Lionell has been a Physiotherapist for 9 years (trained in New Zealand). He has been working in the private sector for most of this with experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal clinic-based treatment, and Community Based Rehabilitation. He also completes equipment assessments relating to long term-injury such as wheelchair and seating, exercise equipment, and transfer aids. Lionell has been regularly participating in the Waka Ama community since moving to Whangarei in 2015 and has initiated his studies in Te Reo Maori.

My Goals

Finish level 2 of Te Reo Maori for 2022.
Support people with long-term injury/disability to engage in meaningful sporting activities in their community.
