Simone Veldsman
Occupational Therapist

About

Simone graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2003. She was initially based at Northland DHB in the Assessment and Rehabilitation unit working with adults with brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s and a range of other injuries. Simone then worked for a couple of years with children with special needs as a school-based therapist.  After taking 6 months off to travel with her husband, Simone started working privately in the community in 2007, completing assessment and rehabilitation programmes for injured individuals across Northland. After spending some time raising her young family, Simone joined Active Plus in 2021 returning to private community work and is currently providing services in both assessments (Equipment Assessments & Social Rehabilitation Assessments), and rehabilitation programmes (Training for Independence Programmes, Concussion, and Short Term and Wellbeing Programmes).

Simone loves the outdoors, and enjoys spending time with her family on the water either fishing or diving and spending time in her garden.

My Goals

Continue to develop my knowledge and skills and provide individualised client-centered practice.

Maintain a good work-life balance and spend time with my family doing the things we love.
