Pilates is a form of strength and flexibility training that can be done by someone at any level of fitness. Movements are taught with an emphasis on the core principles of breathing, control, relaxation, centering, flow, precision and alignment. Pilates is designed to promote a feeling of physical and mental well-being and also develops inner physical awareness. Pilates is also helpful in preventing and rehabilitating injuries, improving posture, and increasing flexibility, circulation, and balance.

Classes at Active+ Palmerston North are taught by a qualified physiotherapist and Pilates instructor. This allows for greater modification of the Pilates exercises to suit your level of skill, personal exercise goals and injury-related restrictions, ensuring that you get the most out of each class.  If you are new to the class we recommend a 1:1 session prior to joining to ensure that you are familiar with all the exercises and correct techniques.

Our classes run in 10 week terms along side the school terms: 5th Febuary - 14th April, 30th April - 6th July, 2rd July - 28th September, 15th October - 21st December.  Classes are $8 for express, or $10 per regular session, or you can purchase a concession card for $80 per term.
