About

Christelle is South African and comes from a small town called White River.  She completed her degree in 2008 at the University of the Free State based in the country’s judicial capital city, Bloemfontein, which is also known as the “city of roses”. She completed her country’s community service year in Bochabelo in 2009. After that, she worked in the executive capital city, Pretoria and in Johannesburg for 10years. This was at a physical rehabilitation facility specialising in neurological rehabilitation after acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, MS, amputations, etc. She completed a postgraduate programme in Neurosciences at the University of Witwatersrand in 2018. She also worked in the Medicolegal industry for 3 years as a consultant, mostly related to the effect of an injury on the ability to return to work. She worked on a part-time basis in the country’s legislative capital city, Cape Town, before she moved to New Zeeland in 2021 to join the Active+ team.

Christelle identifies with the motto of Occupational Therapy of “being, doing, becoming and belonging”. This forms the basis of interaction; where someone is from, what motivates them to be who they are and want to become, within themselves, their home and community.
