About

Claire is a New Zealand–registered Occupational Therapist with over 18 years’ experience, primarily in community-based rehabilitation. She graduated in the UK in 2007 and has worked in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2008 across a wide range of settings, including physical rehabilitation, mental health, and ACC contracted services.

Claire has expertise in vocational rehabilitation, health promotion, and wellness focused, occupation-based interventions that support independence and meaningful participation in daily life. Her practice is grounded in person and whānau centred care and guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles. Claire is committed to culturally safe practice, building respectful relationships (whakawhanaungatanga), and supporting equity, participation, and wellbeing for all tāngata whai ora and their whānau.

More recently, Claire completed a fixed term lecturing role in Occupational Therapy at Otago Polytechnic and is passionate about supporting the development of the next generation of Occupational Therapists.

Outside of work, Claire enjoys spending time in nature and with animals, paddleboarding on the lakes, walking, and exploring Aotearoa
