About

Cara completed a Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy at Massey University, Auckland, graduating in 2006 as a Massey Scholar. Cara has worked across a range of paediatric settings including Early Intervention, Child Development services and with school level communication needs. She was Practice Supervisor and a clinical SLT at Starship Children’s Hospital, and specialised in paediatric feeding disorders, completing a Post Graduate Certificate in 2009 with a focus on feeding in infants. More recently Cara has become accredited to work with Communication Assistive Technology, Level 1 and has loved expanding her skillset into Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Cara loves supporting children and their families to grow meaningful communication and skills for safe and effective feeding.

Cara and her family, including her husband and 3 boys, have settled in Taranaki after years travelling and living in Northland, and Cara loves contributing to the local Taranaki community as an SLT. Outside of work she is busy with her kids, caring for the animals on her rural property, and growing flowers.
