About

I completed my training in England 10 years ago. I moved to Vancouver, Canada, about a year later, and have now been in New Zealand since December 2016.

I have mostly worked in musculoskeletal outpatient setting, but have also spent some time working in the hospital. My experience is quite wide, from working with ages from teens to the elderly. I have experience and extra training for areas such as treating sports injuries, post-op rehab, temporomandibular dysfunction, arthritis care, biomechanical issues, osteoporosis, oncology, pelvic girdle pain (pre and post-partum) and headaches.

I have been practicing acupuncture for 10 years and find this is a safe and useful treatment for a wide range of complaints. I also have training through the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute (APPI) for teaching Pilates, so I often incorporate this into my rehabilitation plans as well as teaching small group classes at the Te Rapa clinic.

I love meeting people, listening to them, and figuring out how I can help. I feel it’s important to look at an individual as a whole, rather than ending up too focussed on their condition or diagnosis.

My personal interests involve running (on trail and road), rock climbing, yoga, Pilates, tramping, scuba diving, horse riding, snowboarding, ski touring, volunteering at the Cambridge Riding for the Disabled, felting, playing the violin, dark chocolate.

My Goals

  • Complete full training with APPI to become an accredited Pilates Instructor.
  • Do my 4th Tough Mudder (obstacle course race) this November in Auckland
  • Visit the donkey sanctuary in northland with my parents when they visit this spring
